RAM Ratings (Lanka) Ltd., is a domestic credit rating agency registered under the Securities & Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka (SEC) Act, No. 36 of 1987 sub-section 19A. RAM Ratings is also recognized by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka as an External Credit Assessment Institution -"(or ECAI)”, and the Insurance Board of Sri Lanka to carryout mandatory credit ratings.
RAM Ratings Lanka was formerly a wholly owned subsidiary of Malaysian based RAM Holdings Berhad - which was an affiliated of Standard and Poor’s. Presently RAM Ratings Lanka is using the Rating Criteria and Methodologies obtained from RAM Holdings Berhad which was customized to cater to the Sri Lankan market.
Despite our relatively short history, RAM Ratings Lanka is rapidly gaining acceptance as the trusted credit-rating agency of both the public and the regulators
RAM Ratings Lanka is a member of the Association of Credit Rating Agencies in Asia which is a prestigious organisation which is funded by the Asian Development Bank and represented by 30 leading domestic rating agencies, with successful track records, in 13 countries.
